Visit to Mr. Kofi Annan, September 2011

September 13, 2011

The Chair and the Secretary of the Board of the Kofi Annan Business Schools Foundation visited Mr. Kofi Annan, at his invitation in Geneva. Mr. Annan was very pleased to hear about the increasing numbers of “Kofi Annan Fellows”. He was also pleased to hear that the fellows after graduation, did go back to help build their home countries. The professions they are in now, are promising and do indicate that they will in the future really be in the position to contribute to a successful and sustainable development of their societies. As a small gift we handed him a picture of a group of fellows, celebrating receiving their bachelor degree in August in Utrecht.

Mr. Annan took the time to discuss the intended route for strengthening and expanding the Kofi Annan Business Schools Network, in particular in Europe and Africa, the number of “Fellows”, the knowledge platform for the development of small and medium size enterprises in developing countries, the impor-tance of knowledge exchange of both staff and students from different regions of the world, and –yes- also the celebration of the first lustrum in 2012, etc.

The keen interest of Mr. Annan in the work of KABS and in particular in the performance and possible future contributions of the Kofi Annan Fellows was most encouraging. He is a most inspiring patron, indeed!
